Grateful Monday: Grateful for Patience

I think patience is definitely not a trait I am wonderful at. I strive every single day to become a more patient and understanding person. I am grateful so much for the gift of learning patience. 

I use a few different practices when I feel myself getting impatient. 

First I ask myself: Is it necessary to be impatient about this? For instance a long line. Is my time more precious than everyone elses time? No. 

Second: YOGA I highly reccommend yoga. It has helped me so much with my patience, my personality, everything. It has made me a more calm and collected person.

Lastly meditation. If I have had a really truly awful day. I meditate. I know myself and that calms me so much. To have time within myself to calm down and regain my patience. 

I think the real gift of patience is learning the above things. Those are the things I am grateful for that I have the ability to learn yoga, meditation and was once told to ask myself if my time is more precious?

Its so easy in life to become impatient. Especially in a world where everything is go go go and we are constantly getting everything as soon as we want it. If you want a book you no longer drive to a bookstore, you immediately have it on your iPad. If you want a song same thing. No more making mixed tapes for us!

I believe as a society this has made us more impatient. So remember to be grateful for patience. Our time is not more precious than the person in front of us or behind us.
